Ruth May, chief executive, said:” I am delighted that building work is now underway on the new PFI hospital. . This has been a long time coming and is the result of a lot of hard work by many people and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved. It means we will get a new hospital where we can provide good clinical care in modern facilities.”
“This is really good news for everyone at the Trust and the people of mid Essex. The new hospital will bring state of the art medical facilities to the area and will mean that we can transfer services from St John’s to a brand new building in 2010. This is a very exciting time for the Trust and we should all be very proud of this achievement.”
